This movie needs fans AND support. I kid you not.

On Christmas Day, at five in the evening, I was at this movie. I had been unable to get a hold of the three people I was initially going to recruit to go with me, so I took my cousin instead, certain that because of the growing fandom, there would be a crowd.

I was very mistaken.

As he and I bought our tickets to go see the movie, the desk attendant and I struck up a short-lived, but meaningful conversation.

"Do you know anything about Repo?"

"Oh yes. I've been obsessed with it..." and so on.

What followed was him looking at me and saying that they really appreciated us coming to see it, considering there are only around twelve copies of this film in existence, what what I've heard. After the conversation, when my cousin and I went into theater house one, I suddenly understood why he appreciated us coming out there.

We were two of THREE patrons who showed up to that movie that night. In fact, we were very possibly the only three in that entire theater aside from the who employees we had already seen...period.

There was ONE other person in that theater besides the two of us - and I believe he was possibly in there trying to get warm, as he disappeared once or twice during the movie and had a rolling luggage with him. Whether he was or wasn't, though, I am happy on his behalf that he chose that movie to dignify.

That theater has a policy - if no one shows up, they won't roll the film, no exceptions. I would have gotten my cousin to help me recruit - but there was no one out on the street that night that we could have even gotten in there to see the movie. A shame it was indeed - it was a truly amazing movie, and while I've always said that nothing would ever top Lord of the Rings and the Evil Dead trilogy as my favorite six movies. But REPO! The Genetic Opera has done it, and thanks to Darren Bousman, Terrance Zdunich, and Darren Smith, it had been a most memorable and amazing replacement.

Seeing that movie made it the best Christmas I've seen in my life.

REPO! The Genetic Opera deserved a lot better than what it got on Christmas, but we three in the theater did what it seemed no one else was willing or probably to do (it being a holiday) - we kept it rolling. Whether or not anyone showed up for the next viewings, I don't know.

But I'll testify for it nonetheless.
